10 Dec Cuckoo Brunei Explores Penang
PENANG, MALAYSIA
AROUND 70 Cuckoo International (B) Sdn Bhd staff and sales organisation members joined in to take a five-day trip to Penang from August 19 to 23 as part of the company incentive trip initiatives.
On the first day of the trip, the group took an early bus heading to the famous Penang Hill where the group took the funicular railway up to grasp the breath-taking view of Penang from the highest point of the state, looking at 8,333 metres above sea level.
Penang Hill, also known as Bukit Bendera, is a hill resort comprising with numerous attractions from its natural beauty of flora to its ancient architecture that showcases Penang’s culture, heritage and diversity. The delegation took this opportunity to snap beautiful photos of the scenery and partake in various activities conducted on the resort.
After going down the Penang Hill, the group took a trip to Fort Cornwallis to grab lunch at Kota Dine. After the lunch feast, the group explored the largest remaining bastion fort. The fort, built in 1786, featured various ancient structures and artefact, such as prison cells, barracks, munition storage, harbour light, old bronze cannons and more.
The day then ended with trips to several ancient mansions, such as the Penang Peranakan Mansion and the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion.
The Penang Peranakan Mansion showcased the history of the ‘Peranakans’ along with their lifestyle, culture, customs and traditions. In the mansion, the guests are treated with over 1,000 pieces of antiques and collectibles from the 19th century that tells the story of the Peranakans, also known as Babas and Nyonyas.
Meanwhile, the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, also known as the Blue Mansion, is a ancient private mansion which has a total of 38 rooms, five granite-paved courtyards, seven staircases, and a total of 220 vernacular timber louvre windows.
The next day, the group took a day tour to the beautiful Entopia Butterfly Park where they explored the nature exhibition which includes over 200 species, including various invertebrates, reptiles and plants. The second day was then concluded with various stops at famous shopping malls and centres in Penang, including the Design Village Outlet Mall, Gurney Drive, and many more. The evening then ended with a visit to the Avatar Secret Garden.
On the last day of the trip, the adventure was concluded with a dinner at the Doubletree Resort where the group celebrated the trip with a look back video of the trip, along with awards for various categories.
Cuckoo Brunei will continue to organise future incentive trips to celebrate its staffs’ achievements.
