Lontong

Lontong is a malaysian dish, Usually during hari raya only they served this exquisite dish

Ingredients

Lontong:-

  • 1/2 Cabbage, Roughly Sliced
  • 1/4 Potato Cut into Matchsticks
  • 1 Carrot Cut into Matchsticks
  • 5 Long Beans, Cut into
  • 2-Inch Length
  • 1 Eggplant, Cut into Rondelles 2 Foo Chuk (Tofu Skin), Soaked for 5 Minutes
  • 2 Soo Hoon (Glass Noodle) Soaked for 5 Minutes
  • 2 Firm Tofu, Friend and Cut into Cubes
  • 2 Tempe Cut into Large Cubes
  • 2 Lemongrass Smashed
  • 250 ml Big Red Chillies, Sliced
  • 250 ml Coconut Milk, Diluted with 200 ml water Coconut Milk
  • Sugar and Salt, according to taste

 

Prawn Paste:-

  • 9 Pieces Small Red Onions
  • 1 Inch Tumeric Root
  • 2 Tablespoon Dried Prawns, Soaked in Warm Water for 5 Minutes

Steps

    1. With the lid open, add the diluted coconut milk, blended prawn paste and lemon grass then turn the handle into the lock position while the lid is still open and pres the “Menu” button, select “Multicook”and press “Start/Cook” then let the soup boil with the lid open.
    2. While the soup boils,add the cabbage, carrot and potato and cook until slightly tender.
    3. Add all the other ingredients, close the lid and turn the handle to the lock position and press “Start/Cook” and let it cook for 10 minutes .
    4. Season to taste and serve the soup with nai impit
